drama

A crackling sound of burning logs is followed by the clack of the cast iron expanding as the fire inside begins to roar. Heat radiates from the old stove as the morning chill is ushered away. The sun begins its appearance through the clouds to the east and nature’s kaleidoscope makes its morning debut on today’s magnificent stage. All of the essential characters are in place as the play called today begins with windswept applause. The core plot is set and roles have been rehearsed many times before, but the shifting stage may require extemporaneous expressions that connect the plot so magnificently set in motion by the Master Playwright. Some of the previously relied upon props have become less usable in recent performances, but accommodation has been made and bows of gratitude have been taken at the conclusion of each day’s production. As the curtain rises on today’s presentation we wait in anticipation for the drama, the comedy, the musical extravaganza or the sordid soap opera that may unfold. Whatever the role required for today, we pray that this actor be fully prepared with a heart full of thanks for the Master Coach who stands in the wing cheering us on!

The chill permeates as the fire in the stove continues to heat the walls of its cast iron confinement. Soon the entire room will be toasty and warm; a welcomed haven to human and canine alike. With the morning dawns the opportunity to experience a new day, the chance to discover what is ahead. Waking without pain or excessive discomfort often sets the stage for the day’s interpretation as each act unfolds. Strain, pain, or struggle when arising draws the curtain on a different view of the drama ahead. Whether strained or free of pain, one’s aim is for gratitude that another day will unfold. The observation of the drama unfolding is a product not only of the players but also the eyes by which it is viewed. I contend that gratitude can not only set the stage but also bring the play into the brightest light. May we fill more stages with gratitude in anticipation of grace filled reviews.
